Active Dundee was delighted to welcome members of the Kanu Club from Würzburg, Germany, during a visit to the city on Tuesday 11 August.
The visit was organised with the support of the Dundee Würzburg Twinning Association and brought together 23 young people with disabilities, along with their families, for several memorable days exploring Dundee's culture, attractions and hospitality.
During their stay, the group enjoyed a varied programme of activities, culminating in a visit to some of Active Dundee's facilities. Following a warm welcome from Dundee Dragons Wheelchair Sports Club at The Change Centre, participants had the opportunity to take part in wheelchair basketball and badminton sessions, giving them a chance to meet local athletes, try new activities and build lasting connections.
The visit concluded with a relaxing swim at Olympia Leisure Centre, allowing the group to experience one of Dundee's flagship leisure facilities before returning home.
The visit highlighted the value of international friendship, inclusion and sport in bringing communities together and provided an opportunity for visitors and local participants alike to share experiences and learn from one another.
